Professional

I've been a professional creative for over 12 years and I've worked with movie studios, toy companies, esports teams, pharmaceuticals, startups, and even a print newspaper or three. I've been in leadership roles for 6 years and the only thing I care about more than the work is my team. Tortured artists may make great work, but infographics are tough when you're exhausted. I take care of my teams and my teams make great work. It's as simple as that.

Experience

I'm a multidisciplinary director and I like it that way. You can be the best editorial director in the world but that isn't gonna help much when a client needs motion graphics. In no particular order, my preferred fields of design are: Events/experiential, Apparel, Packaging, UI/UX, Branding, Motion Graphics, Editorial & Layout, Illustration, and Product Development. This list was shorter two years ago and I expect it to be longer two years from now. 

Personal

While I obviously love design, you've gotta diversify if you don't wanna just regurgitate what you see at the top of your personal algorithm. Outside of work, I box (for fitness. Please don't come at me, bro) and rollerblade. I'm a huge fan of movies and saw 30 of them in theaters last year. I'm an avid gamer, if not a particularly skilled one. I've got a comic collection that rivals most public libraries. I also love taking on craft projects. Big fan of linocut and in the last year, I've been learning how to knit. I also love tabletop games like D&D, Monster of the Week, and Slugblaster.

  • Associate Creative Director, Feb 2022 - June 2023
    Creative Director, June 2023 - May 2025
    • Led and grew a cross-functional team of 10 creatives in illustration, 2D animation and motion graphics, layout, design, copy, video, 3D, social, and experiential creative work for 12+ brands across different radically different industries.

    • Directed creative for immersive 5000+ attendee in-person events including live broadcast to home audiences, including concepts, environmental art, activations, stage layouts, fixtures, and art, and product design for merchandise and giveaways.

    • Worked extensively in esports including researching the history and community culture to better reach audiences. 

    • Capitalized on personal design skills and experience in concepting, moodboarding, ideation, illustration and sketching, typography, color theory, composition, and building of mockups and models to develop and present visual concepts and planning of real life spaces. 

    • Performed trend forecasting and research in retail, clothing, and events to ensure cultural relevance of projects and campaigns. 

    • Worked closely with fabricators, manufacturers, and product sourcing teams to ensure the best end product across a variety of projects. 

    • Led A for Adley brand to a 144% increase in merchandise sales and a 150% increase in creative output over 2 years.

    • Led Spacestation Gaming brand to a 134% increase in merchandise sales and 104% increase in creative output over 3 years.  

    • Utilized strong communication, interpersonal skills, and sense of humor to collaborate with my team and present new and revised concepts to small and large groups including internal stakeholders and external clients. 

    • Carefully curated team culture to build strong coworker relationships and an environment of respect, collaboration, inclusivity.  

    • Worked independently in addition to collaborating with my team to across a wide variety of projects. 

    • Experience working closely with motion graphics artists, 3D modelers and animators, video editors, and technical staff utilizing a wide range of programs like Maya, Unreal Engine 4, AutoCAD, Moho, Cinema4D, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and more. 

    • Worked closely with creative team members to mentor and inspire, and provide guidance, feedback, and professional development.

    • Created scalable brand systems, style guides, and merchandise toolkits for entertainment, sports, youth, and wellness brands. 

    • Crafted retail interiors and convention booth fan experiences

    • Performed trend analysis and projection to ensure visual and cultural relevance months or years ahead of release.

    • Designed and directed composed art, apparel graphics, retail packaging, key art, and environmental graphics.  

    • Concepted and executed marketing and advertising campaigns across web, social, experiential, and print.

    • Built and launched brands from the ground up.

    • Worked with international sports and entertainment brands like Major League Soccer, Warner Bros., Dreamworks, Saban, Netflix, and more.

    • Led a team of 4 designers.

    • Produced, oversaw, and edited layouts for a 16 page newspaper five nights a week.

    • Led team to consistently met nightly print deadlines. 

    • Coordinated with multiple department leads to create short term and long term plans for projects, individual articles, and ongoing stories.

    • Reached a daily audience of over 32,000 readers.

    • Created new brand system to guide the paper from a 5 day a week newspaper to a once weekly magazine format.
